Spring 2023 Update

Dear Praying Friends

Seasons are changing once again, and we are enjoying some spring weather, with all of it’s ups and downs!

We have also experienced seasons of change in our lives in the past year, just as many of you. Some "seasons" more welcome than others, but all directed by our loving God.

Hope is nearing the end of her first year of Bible College, and she has really enjoyed what she is learning.

David is now 17, and planning to graduate from high school in just a few weeks. It’s hard to believe we are already at this “season”! He plans to join his sister at Heartland Baptist Bible College in August, and begin studying Church Music.

Many of you prayed for Liz last summer when she was diagnosed with cancer. We are grateful for the tremendous outpouring of love and concern during that difficult “season”.

Her surgery in September was successful, and her recovery was very smooth, and completely “without a hitch”. When we went back in for her final checkup, the oncologist said there was no sign of any cancer, anywhere, and there would be no need for further treatment of any kind. Praise the Lord! He also said he didn’t ever want to see her again. Normally that would be a hurtful thing to hear, but when it comes from your oncologist, it’s the best thing possible!

The first weekend in March, Liz was speaking for a ladies meeting in Sugarcreek, Ohio, and had an incident of AFIB. It lasted several days, and we ended up in the hospital in Canton, Ohio for three days. They tried all manner of medication, but were unable to get her heart back into rhythm. It was certainly not a “season” we would have chosen, but God had everything well in hand. We left the hospital on Monday evening and drove the eight hours back to our home in Kentucky, where, the next evening, she converted back to sinus rhythm all by herself. She has been doing fine since then and we are thankful again for your prayers on our behalf!

We are also moving into a new “season” in our travels. With one child in college, and one getting ready to leave us in August, we cannot really justify pulling our 42 foot 5th wheel with our diesel truck from place to place, so we currently have the trailer for sale on consignment with a dealer in Kentucky. Please pray with us that it will sell soon. Once the trailer sells, we will be selling the truck as well.

We are also selling our Ford Excursion, and we have replaced it with a slightly smaller SUV that gets nearly twice the gas mileage. We now get 18-20 mpg, which doesn’t sound great to most people, but compared to 10-12 mpg, it turns into quite a savings!

In the midst of all of these things, we are still on the road every week traveling all over the country, singing, preaching, and telling people of the goodness of God!

Since our last update we have been across the entire country more than once. We have had some great meetings in Washington, Oregon, California, Arizona,Oklahoma, Texas, Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Alabama.

Check out our schedule on the “itinerary” page, and come see us when we are in your area.

Thank you for continuing to pray for us as we endeavor to preach the Gospel to as many as we can. I believe that every should saved, every life changed, and every decision to draw closer to God is fruit that will abound to your account. (Phil 4:17)

God bless you,

Mark, Liz, Hope & David Rogers
