December 2007 - February 2008
Dear Praying Friends,
Here we are already at the end of February and Spring is right around the corner; at least I hope so! We don't really care to drive through any more snow and ice for a long, long time. It seems like this has been a very cold and snowy Winter all over the country. It must be that pesky "global warming" kicking in!
The positive side of the "extreme warming trend" is that we got to go out and build a snowman with the kids. They loved it! You can see pictures of our work of modern art here on the web site.
As most of you already know, we had to rearrange our plans in January due to the home-going of Liz's mother, Mrs. Dorothy Paisley. Thank you for your outpouring of love and concern for the family. God has shown Himself strong, even in her passing.
The whole family was able to celebrate Christmas together and then just a few days later, we were around her bedside singing "The Solid Rock" as she very quietly and peacefully left a sick, weakened body behind and stepped into the presence of her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, on the morning of January 2nd. Please continue to pray for Bro. Paisley as he adjusts to this new phase of his life.
2008 has already started out with a whirlwind of activity. We have been mainly on the West coast, but have covered it from Alaska to Southern California and all points in between!
In January we had services in Pasco and Kent, Washington, followed by a single adult winter retreat up in the mountains of Idaho, near Sun Valley. The group of young adults from Treasure Valley Baptist was an encouragement to me. Their love for the Lord and their desire to serve Him was evident right from the first service.
We finished the month with a Bible Conference at Grace Baptist Church in Corona, California. It was a good time of challenge and refreshing as well as a good time of fellowship for pastors from all over the Southwest.
On our way back to Washington, we were able to spend the first Sunday of February preaching at Bible Baptist Church in Las Vegas, Nevada. Pastor McKenzie has done a wonderful job there and the church is alive and exciting.
We had a great meeting in Vancouver, BC at Harvest Baptist Church. Missionary Derrick Goette has done a great work there among the Filipino people in the Vancouver area.
I made one "quick hop" back to the other side of the country to hold a revival meeting at Bible Believers Baptist in Lexington, Kentucky, with Pastor Jim Coffman. The folks there in Lexington have been a real blessing to us over the years and we are always excited to see what the Lord is doing there.
This week we are spending the last few days of February preaching a Missions Conference at College Heights Baptist Church in Farmington, New Mexico. There is no subject closer to the heart of God than that of reaching the lost around the world with the message of salvation through the blood of Jesus Christ.
On a personal note, it seems hard to believe, but David will be two years old in just a couple of days. I sure wish I knew where the time has gone!
Thank you for your continued prayer support.
We look forward to seeing many of you this year and hearing what God has done in your lives as we make our way around the country.
God bless you,
