April – June 2017
Dear Praying Friends,
This morning we are slowly getting ready for another day of travel. It’s surprising how much of our time is spent just getting from one place to the next!
Here is a little “recap” of our most recent travels.
We spent the last three weeks in Alaska and it was a great trip. We were able to cover quite a bit of territory in three weeks’ time, with meetings in Anchorage, Kenai, Chugiak and at our home church in Fairbanks.
It was good to get to spend several days in Soldotna with my mother. Thank you for continuing to pray for her. She will be 89 in October, and although she is having quite a bit more trouble getting around now, she is in good spirits. Her memory problems are a little worse but we really had a good time visiting with her and spent a lot of time laughing and enjoying each other. God is good!
Our week at Bible Baptist Church in Fairbanks went by way too fast, as it always does. The people at our home church always go out of their way to show us love and make us feel at home, even though we’re not there very often!
Hope and David got to attend Vacation Bible Time in the evenings and they had a great time.
Liz and I were able to get some much needed dental work done, thanks to our good friend Dr. Hostager and his crew working us into their busy schedule.
While we were in Fairbanks we also spent two days (and nights!) in the studio and got all of the vocals recorded for our new CD. It will be a few months before it is finished but I believe it will be a blessing to those who hear it. We were able to record some great songs and we’re excited to begin sharing them in our meetings. We’ll keep you posted and let you know as soon as the new recording is available. For those of you who are “high tech”, yes, it will be available as a digital download! We are being dragged, kicking and screaming into the 21st century!
We spent our last few days in Chugiak, Alaska holding a revival meeting at Bible Baptist Church and we had a good time there. The attendance was excellent and so was the response of the people. We always enjoy being with Pastor Page and the good folks there in Chugiak.
Last night we caught a plane in Anchorage and flew to Seattle where we arrived about midnight. Today we will get in our van and start making our way to New Mexico for our next meeting. Needless to say we are physically tired, so please continue to pray for our health and strength as we travel. Also pray that I will be able to stay alert as I drive for the next couple of days as I can’t cover quite as much ground as I used to without getting tired.
Please remember Pastor Ken Manypenny and his family in prayer. He has faithfully pastored in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania for many years and has been a help and encouragement to us and countless others. His dear wife has been by his side the whole time even through some serious health problems. Just yesterday, she finally got past all of her physical struggles and stepped into the presence of her Saviour. She was dearly loved by many and will be greatly missed.
Thank you again to all of the churches that have given sacrificially to help us get our new fifth wheel. After some minor “glitches” (I’ll fill you in on more of that next time!) we are finally getting adjusted to it and it is a tremendous blessing.
It has been a busy Summer and Fall is going to be the same way, but we are encouraged. We have seen many folks saved and many lives changed in the last few months and we thank you for standing with us as we continue to share the glorious Good News of the Gospel.
God bless you,
