Ministry Update

August - November 2007

Dear Praying Friends,

Another year is almost over and we are looking back over the blessings of God. We are constantly reminded of the prayers of God'speople all around the country for our safety on the road as well as the blessing of God on our meetings. "I thank my God upon every remembrance of you." Philippians 1:3

Every week we meet people who let us know that they and their families pray for us regularly. You could never know what an encouragement that is to us.

We have been all over the country since our last letter and have held revival meetings in several new churches. We were privileged to hold meetings for the first time in Brodhead, Wisconsin at Brodhead Baptist Church. It was a blessing to see what God is doing there.

Another new church for us was Bible Baptist Church in Bennington, Vermont. We had a great meeting there with five folks saved and many good decisions made during the week. Pastor Mike Twardy has been faithful there in Bennington for many years and God has truly blessed the ministry. We were able to be there the last week of September and the leaves were just beginning to change. It was absolutely beautiful and we were once again struck with the beauty of God's creation.

We also had Sunday services in several new churches. Bible Baptist in Galena, Maryland, Mt. Vernon Baptist Temple, Mt. Vernon, OH, Twin Rivers Baptist, Marietta, OH. It is always good to meet new folks and have an opportunity preach the Word of God.

As we mentioned in previous letters, we purchased a fifth wheel trailer and truck in which to travel and we have really enjoyed theconvenience of having our "own space". Every change has its own set of new logistical problems but that just keeps things interesting! We have learned several important lessons with the trailer. Some of the big ones include: "park on level ground," "make sure you have room to turn around," "spray poison on the bugs while they are on the outside of the trailer," "AAA in Ohio won't deliver diesel" and probably the most valuable lesson, "NEVER plug into 220!"  God has certainly been good to us!

Special thanks go out to Baptist Tabernacle in Carlisle, Ohio and Mansfield Baptist Temple in Mansfield, Ohio that both sent in special gifts designated for the purchase of the trailer. Thank you for your kindness!

My mother flew from Alaska to spend most of November with us and to get in some quality "Grandma time."  We took her all over the country with us from Pennsylvania to Florida and we all had a wonderful time.

Many of you have been praying for Liz's mother, Mrs. Dorothy Paisley, as she continues to fight the cancer in her body. Thank you for your love and concern. We know that whatever God does will be right and we trust Him with the outcome; however, we are still asking Him to intervene in a miraculous way. Isn't it good to be saved and know that one day we'll be together in the presence of Christ and there will be no more death?  What a great God we serve.

We were blessed to have Bro. and Mrs. Paisley come and spend Thanksgiving with us in Kentucky. Mrs. Paisley was weak and in quite a bit of pain, but she managed a long flight followed by a long drive and did very well. I think grandchildren are a very powerful motivational force. Liz's sister and her family and my mother, were all able to be there as well.

We had a full house, but it was a wonderful time of fun and blessing. We are thankful for every opportunity we have to enjoy ourfamilies and we are looking forward to spending Christmas together too.

As 2007 comes to a rapid close and 2008 looms on the horizon, let’s determine that we will do our best to serve the Lord with the time we have and continue "Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto Himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works." Titus 2:13-14

God bless you,

Mark Rogers
