Ministry Update

July - August 2002

Dear Praying Friends,

Many of you have been waiting for a new update letter and some new pictures up on the web site, especially wedding pictures! Well, here it is. A lot has happened over the last two months, but I will do my best to fill you in.

I was privileged to be at the annual Bible Conference at Hope Baptist Church in Toledo, Ohio. It is held each year immediately following Father's Day and is always a time of great preaching, singing, food and fellowship. Pastor Sowell and the good folks at Hope work very hard to make the week special, and we had a great time once again this year.

I was also able to be back with Pastor Rick Bickelhaupt at Grace Baptist in Oak Harbor, Ohio in June for a revival meeting. We had a great time that week and will be back again next year. A special "thank you" to Grace Baptist for putting a new windshield and new mirrors on the van. What a blessing! After finishing the meetings in Ohio, I headed out to Meridian, Idaho for a Bible Conference at Treasure Valley Baptist Church. We had a tremendous time there that week and saw God do some great things in lives. It was also my last meeting as a single man. When the meeting was over in Meridian, I went to Pasco, Washington for the "Wedding of the Century." On July 12th, the former Miss Elizabeth Paisley became Mrs. Mark Rogers. We had friends and family come to Pasco from all over the country, and it was almost like a big family reunion for a couple of days.

We went to Gatlinburg, Tennessee for our honeymoon and on the way, stopped off at Milford, Ohio to preach at First Baptist Church. Pastor Duttry and the folks at Milford treated us like royalty that weekend and we were glad we had the opportunity to stop by. We are adjusting to married life and enjoying being on the road together.  God has truly blessed us! Our first services, after returning from our honeymoon, were at Cornerstone Baptist in Massillon, Ohio. Dr. Tom Fryman has pastored there faithfully for many years and the Lord has certainly blessed the church. August has been a very busy month with meetings at Twinbrook Hills Baptist in Hamilton, Ohio, a Camp Meeting at Victory Baptist Church in Shelbyville, Tennessee, and a great Preacher's Fellowship at Sturgis Baptist in Sturgis, Michigan. It was good to be back in Fallsburg, Ohio for revival meetings with Pastor Dahlke at Fallsburg Baptist Church and in Canon City, Colorado with Pastor McDonald.

After the meeting in Colorado, we went to Bible Baptist Church in Dumas, Texas for the first time. The evening service was held in a local park and I think I sang until I was nearly hoarse! It was a wonderful day and we really enjoyed the people there.

Thank you for your prayers, as well as all of the kind notes, cards and gifts so many of you sent for the wedding. Please continue to pray for us as we travel across the country. The van just turned over 200,000 miles last week but it is still running well. Praise the Lord! I am hoping to get at least another 100,000 miles out of it before we have to start looking for something else.

There will be a whole new set of pictures and an updated itinerary on the web site so you can "follow" us around the country. We look forward to seeing you soon.

God bless you,

Mark Rogers
